My dear friend Brian has been in combat robotics for a long time. He had competed in many lighter weight classes than the 250lbs of BattleBots for years and years. He had been designing in Inventor for a long time, and I decided to help him learn SOLIDWORKS since I worked for a reseller.

I taught him where the buttons were, the best practices, and so on and after thousands of hours of designing Claw Viper 2 (CV1 had been designed by team captain Kevin Milczewski), he asked if I wanted to be on the show.
